Re: best GtoB ?

Looking at the bullets, my guess would have been thje 1.0 G to B. It just looks uniform, but as you said, it doesn't seem to matter much.

Re: Painted Bases

Thinking about it, it may work well with some 300 blackout loads, your getting some impressive speed out of your stuff, I wonder if you could start with say, a 30 caliber bullet and step size it down to 6 mm to try and squeeze concentricity into the bullet, so to speak, and if that would help obtain...

Re: Painted Bases

interesting research your doing, have you tried this at handgun velocities? Say 12 to 1400 fps? My curiosity is vs. a gas check.

Re: Borescopes

I bought a borescope for work. A couple years later, they came out with a 5 millimeter head, it has a right angle attachment and works well, beats paying the "gunsmith" price for a pro grade borescope, I am not a pro, I just want to see whats happening.

Re: new project

So, I am revisiting my pistol after some time away, I ordered a 500 grain mold from you today that will fit my cases, I am looking for 11 to 1200 fps max, should be no problem. This will give me a practical pistol with plenty of knockdown for what I hunt, or in other words, my theory and desire to b...

Re: re-barrelling the 30-06, part II

Thinking that the reverse taper is giving you problems.Wonder if 100 shots with lapping compound might straighten things out?i have fire lapped my pistol barrels and it usually takes a 100 to 200 shots to clean up any issues i find.i clean after every 5 shots in my revolvers when lapping, you have s...

Re: re-barrelling the 30-06, part II

Following this with interest, i am thinking on a 250 grain 30 cal for subsonic use in my 300 WSM.Fitting the slug seems to be the challenge, i used the online program and came up with a ok design until i read about your streaking issue(less lube),i had made a nose with a long front band with no lube...

Re: Revisiting the Marlin 357

That is moving right along for a slug that big.I would think for woods range hunting, that would handle quite a bit.

Re: re-barrelling the 30-06, part II

Just seeing what everybody else uses as i have a model 70 action in need of the bolt lugs being lapped.I have 250 grit valve lapping compound, silicon carbide, i also have some finer stuff to finish with. I wouldn't mind messing with hi vel cast, so your threads on this are interesting. I am toying ...
