Re: I keep getting an inside-out bullet with the design program

A smooth option has been added to the design program, as long as the bullet has a crimp -- and I can eliminate the crimp if you include a note. For 45 caliber you have the Hornady 45 pistol check, which contrary to what Hornady claims was designed for the .452 pistol not a .460 rifle, and does not c...

Re: Measuring BC's

Received some BC data from Paul Pollard that was collected with a LabRadar. These are will cast spitzers, from memory his 6mm spitzer is about 77 gr. in lino. Chad shot the 300 Blackout with the MM 180 PB bullet, 25:1 alloy and breech seated. His cases weren’t all sealing well and the velocity was a...

Should we test for statistical significance?

Using statistics for shooting data is a good thing, but there is a growing push back against using statistics to provide "yes or no" answers. Scientists Rise Up Against Statistical Significance We should never conclude there is ‘no difference’ or ‘no association’ just because a P value is larger tha...

Design myths

There are many myths about selecting or designing cast bullets. In the internet age the newbie typically goes on an internet forum and asks the experts for advice. Except the "experts" are not really experts, and they give bad advice. That includes, but is not limited to, the CBA. "First thing, you ...

350 Legend Chamber

I have no clue how this thing headspaces but setting that aside, it would appear to have a good throat so it may be a good candidate for cast bullets.

Saeco top punches now available.

It only took me 15 years, but I finally got around to setting up to cut Saeco-style nose punches.   The price will be $25 for a fitted punch or $15 for a flat punch. You probably think that I am trying to rip you off with those prices but unlike other mold makers I don't mass produce...

Some smooth bullet designs now available

The only proven advantage to smooth bullets is they fill out easier and drop out easier. Otherwise, grooves don't hurt anything and sometimes they help. The thinking behind smooth bullets is misguided and reflects a lack of understanding of bulletology. :geek: Nonetheless, some folks have asked for ...

Re: I keep getting an inside-out bullet with the design program

The bottom half of the program is output-only.

There is no option for smooth bullets. They serve no purpose.

Wind bracing complete, tools hung up, construction materials stacked, and finally a vehicle can be parked inside the barn with room to spare. Yea! :)

Re: Woodshed and Alaskan Mill

Five years have passed and the interior of the barn is still not complete. Several wind braces are lacking (temporary braces made from scrap lumber have held the building up all these years  ).
