lighting

I try to standardize on construction materials, including lighting. Storebought lighting fixtures can be spendy so homemade fixtures get the job done. Homemade wooden boxes. Plastic diffuser from Home Depot. https://imgur.com/3miaVYn.jpg Let there be light. https://imgur.com/iOknSXZ.jpg

Closet doors

Homemade closet doors, mounted on a standard bypass track. Nothing fancy. https://imgur.com/vnn0nEj.jpg Homemade closet door (minus a few pieces of trim when this photo was taken), on a barn door track. I prefer the look of the barn door hardware, but the track does require some empty wall space. In...

Bathroom construction

This had been bare studs and bare subfloor for far too long. Tile floor and homemade vanity. Still gotta construct the upper half of the vanity area. https://imgur.com/OHA6GdP.jpg Homemade douglas fir trim wrapping the shower stall. https://imgur.com/CkE7HMd.jpg The big stuff is done in the bathroom...

Re: Bradshaw-Martin SWC for Ruger 357 Maxi

5 shots at 100 yards from a 10 1/2" Ruger Maxi. Shot by Lee with iron sights. Approximately 3" group. Load was 17.0 IMR4227, velocity 1409 fps. I have to admit that I did not expect the long, unsupported nose to shoot well, but this is very good. 8-) http://www.singleactions.com/images/194...

Bradshaw-Martin SWC for Ruger 357 Maxi

This bullet was designed by legendary IHMSA shooter David Bradshaw and his friend Lee Martin. It was designed specifically for moderate loads in the Ruger 357 maximum. David and Lee have tested this bullet out to 200 yards with good results, as discussed at SingleActions.com . At this point I'm not ...

Re: Tile floor for living room & kitchen

Day 6: the tile is finished. After 12 years, I finally have a floor, just like a real house. Yea! :) There's still some detail work to do in the living room -- lighting, trim, a little sheetrock and paint here and there. But I gotta go back to making a living for a while so I can get some rest. :D h...

Tile floor for living room & kitchen

1/4" durock on thinset grout in preparation for tile.

Due to space limitations I can only work on about half the room at a time. Once that half is tiled then I'll shuffle the appliances and furniture around so that I can work on the other half.

Re: cabinets

There are still several loose ends to tend to, but the homemade kitchen cabinets and backsplash are up and running. Now on to the next phase of construction.
