Re: Slipform Stone Walls

Looks good Dan. How about posting some pictures showing the whole view of your new home/shop from the outside and some from around the shop? Kind of a photo tour.

Re: Marlin .460 410grs

I pulled out one of the 410 grainers for my 1895G that Dan made the mold for back around 2005. A little longer front band and a little less meplat, but similar :)

Re: Marlin .460 410grs

Danny K., That is a fine looking bullet for the 1895G. That should put the lights out on about anything north of the dark continent with authority. You should be able to shoot that one comfortably (for the gun that is) 1800+ FPS. Those Guide Guns pack a punch for such a small package, and are more a...

Re: New Backpack Revolver

Dan, I like the Bisley grip frame much better than the Blackhawk grip frame. There is more to grab onto, but it still lets the gun roll in your hand. As far as the Bisley vs. FA, I like them both and would have spend some time shooting them side by side with similar loads. My typical load for the Ru...

New Backpack Revolver

I've been working on this project for awhile. It's juat a 4-5/8" Ruger Super Blackhawk with a Bisley grip frame, hammer, and trigger. The Ruger factory grip frames come oversized and pretty rough. I blended the 2 frames together with a mill smooth file, then 320 paper stuck on an aluminum plate...

Re: My new MM460-405

Dan, Recoil is not bad with this rifle, not as bad as the loads I'm shooting in my Marlin Guide Gun. The upper is a Rock River basic 16" 458 SOCOM assembly. I assembled the lower with an ACE stock and a Geissele SSA trigger. With the small amount of shooting and chronographing I've been able to...

My new MM460-405

This mold was made for my 458 SOCOM. I set the dimensions to fit the chamber throat, AR-15 magazines, and the 458 SOCOM's short cast neck. Pictured is rounds loaded in a slightly modified P-MAG 20 and a 223 REM for comparison.
