Re: Quality?

Dan, thank you very much for the detailed reply to my query. That answers a lot of questions and saves me time in testing my own bullets. I water drop my bullets from the molds then sort them in the sun to dry. Obvious duds are culled and then culled again when I size. I do notice differences in siz...

Quality?

Hi guys, I was wondering what was considered good bullet casting in regards to weight. My Marlin .444 is shooting really good as mentioned before. My bullets are weighing plus or minus 1.5 to 2.0 grains either side of average for roughly a 3.0 grain varience. I'm thinking the bullseye shooters weigh...

Re: .444/300gr Fryxell

Yeah, I'm quite pleased. I'm going to see what they do at 200 and maybe 300 yds on the weekend.

.444/300gr Fryxell

This past weekend I tried out my mold of the 300gr Fryxell design. Love it. My Marlin is a real old one, micro grooved barrel, which I lapped and also bedded the forestock. I used my 6.5 x 20 Leupold for testing at 100 yds.

Re: Some thoughts on lube

Thanks Dan, and by that you mean magnums, 1200 fps and up in all the popular stuff. Are you still experimenting with mica and that other stuff just for fun?

Some thoughts on lube

You would think that after all the decades of cast bullet shooting that everything about lubing cast bullets would be known. I have been reading this forum, the CBA forum, and the Beartooth forum. All I can say is nothing seems very straight forward as to what works best. It would seem that after re...

Re: rcbs pro melt

On the marvelux thing, here in Alberta it is very dry humidity wise, can't say I noticed any corrosion, but I don't doubt that the marvelux residue would attract moisture. I guess I like it cause it doesn't smoke or smell, like you said all the other stuff does. The oriface on my ProMelt seems to be...
