Re: Custom Ruger

My ruger bisley hunter in 41 mag shoots like that with my Mtn Mold 255GC with H-110 also.My F/A 454 shoots like that also with Mtn Mold 300GC and RCBSGC,but it cost a lot more. The line boring is the way to go for great accuracy.I think I got lucky on the 41 mag and don't even think about selling it....

Re: Tan OGF more accurate than Secant?

I think you are right that a 200 grain bullet would be a better choice. It would have thicker bands, increased bearing length, better ignition due to the heavier weight when using H-110 and the lower velocity would help prevent leading. When I put in 200 grains on the online design everything did look b...

Re: Tan OGF more accurate than Secant?

I didn't have much luck with the 180 secant until I heat-treated them in the oven at 450 degrees for an hour and then emersed them in ice cold water. With 13.4 grains H-110 they started shooting well.I neck size my brass to make a tight fit in the chamber and crimp lightly with a redding profile crim...

Re: Tan OGF more accurate than Secant?

It probablt would be better to have another mold made.If I ordered another 357 mold could it be shipped with the 45 mold I ordered last week.I could do a better and more detailed test of the designs.I would like to try a 3 band design on a 357 Tan OGF PB mold to see if that makes a better bullet com...

Tan OGF more accurate than Secant?

I have 5 molds made by you and the Tan OGF molds are more accurate than the Secant mold I had made.I think the Tan OGF are fitting the chambers better and starting out straighter due to the bullet being snug in the throat and centering themselves with the bore. They are shooting so well in my revolve...

Re: Marlin 357

Got to shoot the 185 grain GC OGF bullets again yesterday and I got a quarter inch group at 50 yards. The 180 secant PB bullets won't do better than half inch.Guess that isn't too bad for a plain base.I think the OGF bullets are closer to the lands and fill the throat better and I'm sure the Gas Chec...

Re: Marlin 357

I have a 180 pb secant and a 185 ogfgc molds that you made last year and have used them quite a bit in my marlin 357CB.They both have 70% metplats and 80 thou driving bands. I size them .3595 and use Lar's BAC lube. The gc mold has a .325 crimp to nose and feeds very well with the lifter mod being do...
