I apologize but spammers force us to make changes

Apparently spammers have figured out the registration security question so I am forced to increase the anti-spam measures. -- the new security question will force you to think for, oh, half a second. -- new registrants will not be able to post until I personally approve their registration. I'm truly...

Re: Mold or Mould ?

The fact that many in the bullet casting community are still spelling "mold" like it's the year 1775 is a sad reflection on the bullet casting community.

Re: Some RCBS mold handles don't fit some molds

Taken from the RCBS website today, showing flat forks with no step. But ... I have no control over RCBS quality control, so buyer beware. They're rugged handles, better made than the Lee handles, but just be aware that you may have to do some grinding.

Some RCBS mold handles don't fit some molds

The standard and the XL blocks were designed specifically for my mid 80's vintage RCBS mold handles (though some other handles also work). But ... customer Ron let me know that his early 90's vintage RCBS handles do not fit the XL blocks. Ron's RCBS handles have a "step" on the forks. The steps serv...

As if 40 - 41 gas checks were not confusing enough

There is no governing body that enforces standards for gas checks, so we end up with total chaos. In the old days Lyman sold a slip-on "41" check for the 41 magnum. It was too thin to crimp on and nobody liked it. It required its own shank diameter, about 0.397", that was not compatible with a...

Re: 350 Legend Chamber

Thanks for the info, CW.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around headspacing on the case mouth. I suppose it's no different than many pistol cartridges.

Marlin 44 mag microgroove

From Ron P. Finally got out to spend a little range time with the rifle and some loads I made up with bullets cast from the .44 mold you made for my Marlin 1894. The target shown in the file attached was shot at 50 yards. The stuff off to the left is my attempts at herding them around to get them wh...
