Dan, When designing a one diameter bullet,(non bore ride style) how do I determine the front band length? Thanks

We need more information.

Cartridge ? Gun ? Is a crimp absolutely necessary ? Throat shape & length ? Optimal COL ?

I was trying to get a feel for your program. .358 Winchester M.70. Not sure about crimp. I'm still cleaning the rifle and haven't made a throat impression yet.

If you don't need a crimp, then the front band length doesn't matter. Just seat it out until it lightly kisses the rifling.

However, COL may matter in a bolt action.
