I find myself frequently referring to this table from "The Fouling Shot" #235, written by Joe Brennan. If someone says their load shoots one inch, you should always ask "for how many shots?" [You should also ask "for how many groups?" but that's another story  ].

A load that averages one inch for a 3 shot group can be expected to average 1.27 inch for a 5 shot group.
A load that averages one inch for a 3 shot group can be expected to average 1.60 inch for a 10 shot group.
A load that averages one inch for a 5 shot group can be expected to average 1.26 inch for a 10 shot group.

Say your buddy tests his revolver loads with 5 shot groups but you prefer to test all six chambers. Then your 1.07" six shot group is just as good as your buddy's 1.00" five shot group.
