Some smooth bullet designs now available

The only proven advantage to smooth bullets is they fill out easier and drop out easier. Otherwise, grooves don't hurt anything and sometimes they help. The thinking behind smooth bullets is misguided and reflects a lack of understanding of bulletology. :geek:

Nonetheless, some folks have asked for smooth bullets, and as of this moment, the program will allow smooth bullet designs by selecting the "0" # of lube grooves option providing there is a crimp groove.

If you want a smooth plain base bullet, choose the "Plain base, equal length bands" option with "0" lube grooves. There is no smooth option for "Plain base, define length."

If you want a smooth bevel base bullet, choose the "Bevel base, equal length bands" option with "0" lube grooves. There is no smooth option for "Bevel base, define length."

Any of the gas check options should offer "0" lube grooves as long as there is a crimp groove.

Because of some peculiarities of the design code, it was relatively easy to modify the code to make smooth bullets that have a crimp groove, but much more complicated to modify the code to make smooth bullets without a crimp groove. A crimp groove won't hurt a thing even if you don't plan to crimp, but if you are dead set on not having a crimp groove then include a note with your order asking for no crimp groove and I will manually tweak the CNC code to do that.
