I have wanted a 38-55 lever gun for years, but have never purchased one because of the goofy bore, neck, and throat sizes. I have been thinking about pulling the barrel on a Marlin 336 and having it rebored to .375 and purchasing a reamer or throater from Dave Manson. If this works out the reamer would pay for itself because I know of several people that would like a good 38-55. Do you see any problems or have any suggestions such as neck size, throat size, throat length, etc. for this project?
