311041 in a 30-30

Postby 303 british » Sun May 01, 2016 3:01 pm

I am looking for people who have used different bullets in the old 30-30. is the lyman 311041 a good shooter or is it just an oldie? is it better to make up a new bullet on the program or use an existing mold ? My wife likes the look of the new Mossberg in Cabelas Canada catalog. It says button rifled , anyone have experience with it? thanks 303 british.

I have no experience with the Mossberg. Whether a particular bullet works well in a particular gun is generally a function of how well it fits that gun. In addition, bullets for lever actions have to be designed to cycle in the action, which the 311041 was designed to do.

Sorry I can't be more help.
