The Mountain Mold - Ranch Dog 432-365GC just arrived at the Orange PO and I just got it cleaned and ready , just waiting for the lead to become liquid !
Kinda funny I had just finished putting everything away from casting earlier today !

Just finished casting 112 of the new bullets . Water quenched wheelweights !
Now if I can get about 40 or so of them lubed sized and checked tonight and loaded with three or four different charges of H322 I might just hit the range tuesday early !

I like the concept of the anti-splatter shield around your casting station.

If I were at home I'd be outside . But here at the gunsmith shop in the air conditioning my desk and laptop are right behind that box . Molten lead splatters do not go well with a plastic PC keyboard

Average for a dozen WW bullets was 356 grains . Average for twelve lubed sized checked was 365.4 grains . I size in a Buffalo Arms .433" die in a Lyman 4500 .

Unless I'm not seeing something I don't forsee a problem getting it to shoot .
To be honest there have been very very few if any 44 cal home cast bullets that I've not been able to get to shoot well enough for my purposes out to say 150 or so yards . Now when I say for my purposes anything in the 2MOA neighborhood will do , granted I'd like it better but 2 MOA will giterdone . I don't think in the last five years I've killed an animal over 120 yards with a cast bullet and the vast majority were killed inside 60 yards . Each year I generally take 3-8 deer and or bear with cast .

I just returned from the range .
The MM/RD 432-365GC bullet with H322 did very well and chronographed pretty decent considering it was in a 19" barrel .
Targets are posted in the order they were shot.
I think the two warmer loads are plenty good enough . But I'll try them again later this week or sometime next week .
